My favorite roses are David Austin roses.
They look very similar to peonies and many of them have a beautiful fragrant scent.
I have one David Austen rose bush in my backyard, but its on its last leg for the season, so I thought I'd share some photos I found online. (Mine look similar to the William Shakespeare variety)
Aren't they gorgeous? Looking through these photos makes me want to plant some more!

What are your favorite roses?
Beautiful flowers, Cathy! In any color, I love them all! Happy anniversary for tomorrow! Enjoy the coming years of more blessings!

DeleteI don't know roses, but I like the Shakespeare ones you showed us. My mother loved roses. I just never learned to care for them. I know they can be fussy.

Laura
Hi Laura, they are a little fussy to grow. I only have 2 rose bushes and so far they have grown pretty well considering I only prune them in the spring and water them! I know I should be doing more, mulching, fertilizing and so on... I really do love them though. : )
DeleteHi Kathy, I love Pink Roses and miniature ones also! Flowers always soothe me and make me happy!
ReplyDeleteYou have a really sweet and pretty Blog! Hope to see you stop in again and I would love to visit right back :) Blessings, Roxy
Thanks Roxy! I tend to neglect this blog at times because most of my energy goes into my book blog. Feel free to visit either one and I'd love to come by yours again too. : )
Deletegorgeous! i'm in love with these...awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love them too! Welcome and thanks for stopping by. : )
DeleteHi Susan, I would have to say the William Shakespear roses are my favorites. The colors are so rich and vibrant, but in some areas a bit toned down. Completely Shakespear. I love them for that reason.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day and thanks so much for visiting my blog. I really appreciate you stopping by.
